Hello,
If housecleaners, family members or guests mess up the keypad code, or burn something in the oven, the alarm.com protocol first “calls the location”. If the house doesn’t have its own phone, then this would be accomplished by suretyDIY contacting the house via 2-Way Voice, is that correct?
When you “call the location”, I’d expect that you would require the person answering to know a password, is that correct?
Which combinations of panels, keypads and additional modules could support 2-Way voice?
The default central station monitoring procedures can be found here.
Two way voice is optional on Gold Interactive subscriptions with 24/7 monitoring. If you have two way voice active, it will be used as the first contact method for all burglary/fire signals. The location phone, if applicable, would follow.
When you “call the location”, I’d expect that you would require the person answering to know a password, is that correct?
Yes, a passcode is required to dismiss an alarm signal. Individual users may have their own codes or may use a universal code(s) for everyone.
Which combinations of panels, keypads and additional modules could support 2-Way voice?
Two way voice is available typically for most Alarm.com compatible panels, with the exception of the Interlogix NX and SEM.
For the Concord 4, the Interrogator Audio Verification module is needed, as well as hardware Factory Code 2335 or higher. A new one would be fine. Older Concord factory codes would not shut off siren during two way call.
Thank you Jason,
For the AVM to work as a communication device with suretyDIY monitoring personnel, to address accidental alarms, would I set it to AVM mode “instant”?
thanks!
Bill
Thanks again Jason!
I found your Using your Concord 4 page, but I hadn’t seen that AVM wiring diagram yet - I’m very glad that I won’t be doing this without it!
thanks,
Bill
