I have a light triggered by motion that goes on after sunset in the family room. It stays on for 1 hour or so that we don’t have to move around every few minutes.
Before you could program the rule to stop hour or 2 before sunRISE. It doesnt show that option anymore if you select turning on after sunset.
The problem is, my wife wakes up early, goes out before the sun rises and the lights are all on and left on for a long time.
I guess the other option is to make a duplicate rule that is tied to times (pain as I will always have to adjust) but for only allowing the lights on for 5 minutes so that it over rides the other rule for that same activation period? Seems messy
At some point in the past, not sure when, the ability to add a time modifier to Sunrise/Sunset was available. It appears this was removed, not sure why.
We have brought it up to ADC to get that added back in but I cant say if/when they will do that.
Should I just make a duplicate rule for 5 am to 7 am that only turns those lights on for 5 minutes when triggered by motion detectors, so it overrides the orginal rule that keeps those light on for an hour starting at sunrise
Is there a time by which they should definitely be off? You could schedule a time to just turn those specific lights off no matter what to ensure they aren’t left on.
