The alarm sound really freaks out my dogs. I was wondering if there is a way to change the volume or tone… I see that I can turn alarms off completely but wonder if that is a good idea.
Also, what is the annunciation option? Does that tell which alarm sensor was tripped?

For the most part, alarm sirens are intended to have a jarring effect, and you cannot diminish the volume. Turning off sirens is best left just for testing in a temporary fashion.
Siren annunciation enabled will periodically announce the zone which was activated during an alarm siren. You can find descriptions of these features on page 24 in the manual.
