I would want all of my cameras (and ideally doorbell) to do some alerting if they detect motion (people / animals / cars / packages). I think that perimeter guard would do that, correct? if so - is there a way to enable it only when the system is armed? I don’t want them doing that when the system is unarmed.
very impressed so far with the system’s ability to detect people / faces - and figure out who they are. so today if a camera detects a person - I get a voice announcement on the panel. is there a way to only get those announcements for unknown faces? ideally I don’t want the system to announce when it sees me and / or my wife.
That setting is being limited by the onboard recording rule for the microSD card. Since your 24/7 recording resolution is set to 1080p, the live view resolution for the camera is capped at 1080p.
This can be changed by increasing the resolution in the local recording rule for the camera to 4MP. The onboard recording rules can be found in Alarm.com under Video > Recording Rules> Local Recordings.
The best way to do this would be to create a 2nd video analytics rule that is active at all times except when your system is disarmed. You can then configure this rule to have perimeter guard enabled.
Video doorbells can only have a single video analytics rule, so the camera would either need to not be set to only record while the system is armed, or perimeter guard would need to be active at all times. Correction: The ADC-VDB775 uses a newer type of video analytics and can have up to 3 video analytics rules.
There is currently no way to separate out detections of unfamiliar faces for notifications being sent to the panel.
ah - thanks so much for that - it was driving me crazy
for now, I’m going to leave at HD - as I was seeing some pixelation when watching live video when the cameras were set to 4MP.
great info. I’ll work on creating these second analytics rules for the non-doorbell cameras. unfortunate that the doorbell can only have one rule. maybe that will be changed in the future.
understood - figured I’d ask - and maybe that is something that ADC can add at some point.
