Shielded/unshielded wire

I’m about to run some wired sensors to an IQ Hardwire PowerG. The instructions say not to use shielded wire. Can you explain why unshielded is required? I’m asking because I already have a lot of shielded wire AND I’m curious.

Thanks

Well for zone wires it doesn’t really help, resistance on the circuit is the only characteristic that matters.

I’m not sure their specific reason for explicitly stating no shielded cable, but shielded cable is more expensive, and there is likely no way to properly ground it designed in the translator.
