Sensor repeater for iQ on ADC?

Hello, new to the forum and been setting up my system. Wondering if I can get a recommendation for a repeater for my door/window sensors. What’s my best bet?

Or is there an IP based repeater? I have IP connectivity to my shop where I am trying to get enough signal for my sensors.

Are you referring to a Qolsys IQ Panel? If so, this would be a good option.

Note that the repeater will not improve the signal for life safety devices like smoke detectors, but for burglary sensors like Door Window sensors, the resolution products repeaters are quite powerful.

What distance do you have to cover?

This would be just for door and window sensors. The distance is ~110 feet from the panel, but through some RF obstacles. I had to go to the long range sensor for the one sensor I have there. It is the Qolsys IQ Panel from Frontpoint.

Jason,
Do you know when you will have it back in stock?

My apologies, forgot we actually cannot get hold of additional ones. You can probably find some from other retailers floating around. Resolution recently decided they are no longer producing their original line of translators and repeaters.

They have a new universal repeater/translator, the RE524X.

Going forward, the RE524X will replace all of the prior models. So if you cannot find an RE120, you’ll wanna go with the 524X. The 524X simply offers a selection of different operational modes, and locks to a chosen type after a period of 30 days. It can be a repeater or wireless signal translator.

We do not have the 524X yet on our store, unfortunately. Kind of a limbo period. Prior versions were out of distribution before 524X was shipped out. I’ll put in a request to have the new version added.

Thanks again, Jason! I’d rather wait until you have one in stock and will keep an eye out!

OK, so same layout, but wondering about extending z-wave to the shop. Is there a compatible z-wave to IP bridge? I can do ethernet or wiFi. I saw Homeseer makes a really expensive one that looks like it’s built on a Raspberry Pi. I have several Pis laying around if anyone knows the packages it needs and if I can get it to talk to the panel.

As an alternative, can I add a second panel? I’ve WiFi APs in the shop and my panel is on the network.

I am not aware of anyone testing a Z-wave to IP bridge. They are not common, and I would be very hesitant to expect them to function with the system. I’ll look into them today and ask around.

A second panel would require a second Alarm.com account, as two IQ control panels cannot communicate with each other.

Z-wave is a different beast than sensor signals, and there is nothing to reliably offer signal over 100+ feet that I know of.

Yeah, 900mhz at 1mw doesn’t go far… Grrr… Will wait to hear back on any sort of IP bridge if you hear anything.
