Loss of Receiver Supervision

two errors appear, both regarding loss of supervision. I believe one specifically says panel and can’t recall if the other referenced anything more along with loss of supervision.

One more thing: was any of the work performed with the panel powered?

Did you power down the panel completely (unplugging both plug-in transformer and battery) in order to swap the module/reseat the transceiver?

2GIG does not have much info on the AR number suggestion, other than it is a registration number field and should have no effect. (It is actually present in ADC back-end dealer tools on manufacturer firmware versions) While not 100% as we cannot replicate the scenario with the panel you are using, I do not believe this to be a possible cause.

The important thing to note is that removing the transceiver outright from a panel results in an identical message when trying to arm, “Unable to arm panel due to loss of supervision of receiver,” and the same general trouble alerts show up.

If you press “Security - Triangular Trouble Icon” Do you see the following:

“Console: Sensor receiver loss of supervision”
“Console: Loss of transceiver supervision”

I am looking at 1.14.01, but you should see similar alerts. These are likely the two you were referencing.

In all likelihood, what the errors being reported mean is that the panel can no longer communicate with the transceiver. This could mean either the panel is damaged or the transceiver is. Since you did not update firmware (which is something I expected was a possible cause in the couple prior reported cases) we can rule that out.

The likely culprits for what you are seeing:

  1. Panel was energized while physical work was being done, screw or screwdriver may have caused short.
  2. Static discharge while working on the internals.
  3. Bent/loose transceiver dock or pins. Check the two pin docks on the board and make sure they are not loose, that they do not lift or wobble at all. Also make sure the transceiver is properly positioned with all the pins inserted. It may help to take a top down image of the internals, including the transceiver as it is currently installed.

Thanks again. Those are indeed the errors it was showing. I do believe it was still powered when I first switched the module, after reading through the forum and going “oh crud,” though the issues weren’t immediate either so I may be second-guessing myself on that. I did proceed after researching here to remove/re-install the transceiver, tried the cell module and antenna as well, all multiple times. The initial errors weren’t immediate, and after removing/replacing the transceiver the first time it did work for a short while (or appeared to) so very much sounds like it may have shorted somewhere or perhaps something is loose.

Unfortunately, I’m thinking we aren’t going to be able to pinpoint the issue as a sure fix so may go on and cancel service shortly (being again, that I can’t physically get my hands on it for 2 weeks anyway). Can that be done here or do I need to contact the customer service email?

Without someone at the panel, I think you are right. I am hoping it is simply an issue with the transceiver pins.

Keep in mind service is month to month and not pro-rated, so it may make sense to wait and check back when you are able to get to the panel if you’ve only just signed up (if it would still be within the first month).

However, you can schedule cancellation if need be by accessing your account page on suretyDIY and navigating to subscriptions. Click the “View” button next to your active subscription.

Did you actually have sensors report at all to the panel for an extended period? I do see a couple sensor reports in history…only two, and one successful arming, all within two minutes or so, but that means the transceiver worked for at least that long, which definitely suggests physical issue.
