I have moved from 2GIG GC3 to a IQ4 panel.
What is the polling limit on Z-wave devices monitored by ADC with the IQ4 Panel.
I received the following error from ADC…
‘Unable to enable state tracking for this light because you have exceeded the maximum number of allowed lights with state tracking’
The polling limit is not related to the IQ Panel 4, it is the same on all panels and is set at 10.
This is in reference to devices that do not support immediate status updates to the panel. Many modern Z-wave switches are unaffected by this and can report their status without the need for polling.
Older non-Z-wave plus devices need polling due to an old Lutron patent that blocked other devices from updating their controller (it was frankly a stupid patent).
There is no way to increase the polling limit.
I guess I am asking the wrong question?
I have 16 lights enrolled on my IQ4 and on the ADC website when I go to Lights/Devices it shows each enrolled as a box that is black (off) or yellow (on) except the ADC Relay box it shows up in the box as blue without the on/off status.
I thought this blue status was related to polling or tracking limits.
What does this blue status actually mean?
If I click try to click on the “show light status” it gives me the ‘Unable to enable state tracking for this light because you have exceeded the maximum number of allowed lights with state tracking’
I guess I am asking the wrong question?
Nope. This is what I mentioned in the first response.
There is a hard limit of 10 devices which can be enabled for light status polling. You have 11 which would need polling. This device is not selected for status polling and is not reporting status. The blue icon instead of an off or on status icon indicates that status is not being tracked.
Light status can be enabled or disabled for specific devices.
If you want to change which 10 devices are polled:
- Log into the alarm.com website.
- In the Lights card, click the arrow.
- Click the configuration gear for which light you want to manage.
- Click the Show Light Status toggle switch to turn one off, then you can select to poll a different one.
Got it, Thanks
