Hello! When I moved in my home my security system was already set up from the previous residence. We just simply changed out the codes and setup new service with surety. Originally there were 2 security fobs installed to the IQ panel. We only had one of them and we couldn’t determine with was which to remove the other so I removed both. Now I can’t add that fob back! It appears to be a powerg fob with arm/away/disarm and sos buttons but the panel says the 7 digit code on the fob is not a valid device. I also tried the learn function which also doesn’t seem to work no matter what buttons I push. I included a Imgur link with fob photos Fob photo any ideas?
The fob in that image link doesn’t appear to be a PowerG keyfob.
The one in your image appears to be an older model based on FCC ID in the image. It seems like it is an old 433Mhz sensor, maybe used with older Napco or ADT panels.
Do you have any other keyfobs that were left with the system?
No just this one. There were two linked to the panel including this one. It was in the security system docs we got when we moved in. I assumed it was a powerg fob cause it has the powerg format ID (xxx-xxxx)
There are only a handful of PowerG keyfob models. PowerG sensors of the same model all use the same prefix, which indicates to the panel the type of sensor it is. 000 in your image is not a valid prefix.
The FCC ID is visible in the image and doing some digging on it, it looks like it is indeed a 433Mhz sensor, used by a third party Sybersense panel. The keyfob in your image is unrelated to the IQ Panel and would not be compatible with it.
