Is polling needed with Control4?

Hi,

I’m connecting to the IQ4 panel using the Control4 interface generated by my HomeAssistant server. In HomeAssistant there’s an option for HA to enable polling of the IQ4 panel todetect shanges in state. I assume this is not necessary, since I’ve been told on this forum that the transfer of info from IQ4 to Control4 (or in my case HA) is nearly instantaneous - and with polling it wouldn’t be.

Can anyone confirm if I’m right? If I am I would like to discontinue polling to reduce the burden on the two systems and rely on the IQ4 automatically sending the info to Control4, which is presumably sitting waiting to receive it.

I realize this is probably a question for the author of the HomeAssistant integration, but I fugred someone on this forum might also know (and I’m not currently a member of the HA support forum, though I will join soon).

I’m trying to find more information on this but from what I currently know, the IQ Pro has a polling loop using the HSM3105MX module. My guess is that the option needs to be enabled if using the polling loop on the IQ Pro.
