Install help!

I have a 2GIG GC3 alarm panel, and I ordered the DIY kit to get started. I received the CDMA card in the mail, but when I look at the YouTube video there’s an L shaped plastic thing that goes in there, which I don’t have. Did I need to order that instead? Also, when I try to log on to Alarm.com, it tells me that my panel hasn’t connected to Alarm.com yet. Can I connect it over the internet since it’s connected to my WiFi if I haven’t been able to use the CDMA card yet? Thanks

Happy to help!

The Switch to DIY kit is for users with the original Go!Control Panel (newer versions of it called the GC2). The Module and Firmware update cable included in that kit cannot be used with a GC3.

The GC3 just uses a USB thumb drive to update firmware. Cell sleds can be found at the links below:

Unfortunately, yes, you won’t be able to use the cable or module in the switch kit with a GC3. You’ll want to grab one of the cell sleds above.

Our return policy is found here. Make sure to send the product back in the original undamaged packaging, and include the RMA form found on the linked page.

All Alarm.com accounts must first connect with a valid cellular module and the panel must communicate with ADC before you would be able to login. This is normal. Dual path on the GC3 is available as of 3.1 firmware, but you cannot connect via internet first. The cellular connection must occur to link the panel to the account.
