Taking over a system that has an Overhead Door Legacy (aka cheap contractor grade) garage door opener. What are my options for control and is it possible to tie this into my soon-to-be 2gig/ADC alarm or should I replace it with a Chamberlain myQ opener with gateway?
I believe you can add the new Chamberlain MyQ Gateway to any garage electric door made after 1993. http://www.chamberlain.com/smartphone-control-products/myq-garage/model-myq-g0201
You shouldn’t have to replace your garage door opener. I recommend a Liftmaster MyQ 821LM and, if necessary, a Linear Megacode receiver.
