Equipment Aging Out?

My alarms/sensors were installed in 2017. Over the past few months when I get a low battery alert and replace the battery, the alert won’t go away. Does this mean my equipment is aging out and needs to be replaced?

Typically no, what model sensors are they? Many sensors require some time with the batteries removed to dissipate residual charge, otherwise the status cannot resolve. When changing the batteries, leave them out for at least a full 60 seconds. Does that help resolve the low battery status?

Thanks for the reply, Jason. The 60-second delay made all the difference.
Seems odd I haven’t run into this before…maybe I just used to replace the batteries more slowly in the past.

I appreciate your help!

Often the difference can be as subtle as one time you have the new batteries out of the package already vs not. Some models aren’t as sensitive to this but I would recommend always waiting about 60 seconds. Glad that resolved it!
