Hi, I’m looking for advise on whether to use a varifocal dome (prism 8mp) or varifocal bullet camera (prism 8mp).
The camera will be placed outside under a two door garage door awning in the center. See below.
I was leaning toward the dome camera, but any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Both have the same varifocal field of view range, up to 110 horizontal, with the same IR range and resolution, so overall performance should be more or less indistinguishable.
Typically a camera would not be centered, but more often installed to one side and angled to capture the entire area up to building facade. If the goal is to capture up to the garage door, installing in the middle may leave some visibility gaps with that 110 degree horizontal angle.
Thank you and I will change placement.
