Im seeing all these great systems with 2gig(take-345) and . My house was hardwired with the Concord 4 and id like to see how i can convert it. I’ve seen the 2gig Take-345 take over module as well as the Honeywell 5800C2W takeovers and Qolsys IQ Hardwire 16 . I see that the takeovers would convert the hardwired into wireless but will i be able to keep each individual zone? In the installation manual for the 2gig takeover it looks like i would essentially wiring all 8 of my zone into one wireless zone in the takeover module. So im seeing that in the end would have 1 large zone. Is this correct or am i missing something? Id like to convert but keeping each individual zone is a must. Also i see that takeovers do not convert life safety detectors. How would i be able to get these monitored?

Happy to help! No, the Takeover modules do not function as one zone. The TAKE-345 for example has 8 terminals, for 8 zone inputs, each terminal programmed as an individual zone in panel programming. The install and programming process for a TAKE-345 is shown in this video.
The same is true for the other Hardwire conversion kits.
If you have more than 8 wired zones, multiple Takeover modules can be used.

Correct, life safety devices are not intended for use through a hardwire-wireless translator. You would want to replace low voltage smoke detectors in this case with compatible wireless models.

Keep in mind that the Concord 4 is directly compatible with Alarm.com and suretyDIY service. So, all you would need is an unregistered cellular module.
thanks for the reply. I looking at doing a takeover because it looks like the equipment on 2gig and other are more advanced and nicer looking? Are they more advanced? I also like that 2gig doesnt have the 15 sec dialer delay that the concord 4 has.
Are they more advanced?
They are different.
The 2GIG Panel is more user friendly, especially when it comes to programming and Z-wave automation, as everything is menu driven on a touchscreen. Statuses are visually represented and described.
The Concord 4 has some more traditional features which can be a benefit, depending on the installation, such as partitioning, meaning individual areas or groups of sensors can be armed independently (usually used for commercial property reasons). Z-wave devices are learned in on the Alarm.com cellular module itself through button presses and the feedback is a status LED.
The GC3 and IQ Panel 2 use capacitive touchscreens which would be what you are familiar with on your smartphone. Pressure isn’t necessary to navigate the screen.
The GC2 is a resistive touchscreen meaning that pressure is needed when pressing the screen for the press to register. Not much pressure, but it is a different feel than other tablet devices.
thank you very much. And can my hardwired siren be “taken over” and used with the 2gig or other system?
Yes, a hardwired siren can be used, but the alarm panels will have a limited current draw available, so some models may not be compatible.
For this you will want to follow the instructions for the panel model you choose. In the case of a 2GIG panel for example, instructions can be found on page 15 of the manual.
With a 2GIG GC2 or GC3 panel you can also or instead use the Open Collector programmable terminal to control voltage to a piezo siren or trigger a third party relay or siren driver.
