I am looking for expert opinion on the best upgrade option for my old concord 4 panel and keypads to bring it up to date. I can attach pictures if that would help, I am currently running 3g module so thought I would do an upgrade to everything if possible.
I am looking for a more customizable system (z wave plus and routines) and user friendly for my wife and children. My panel has wired smoke detectors, sirens, glass breaks, and freeze/flood sensors which I would like to keep on the new if at all possible.
You could switch to the Qolsys IQ Panel 2+ which offers a much smoother, more modern interface with very easy programming.
It has a 4G LTE cell module (Verizon) Z-Wave plus radio, 319.5MHz radio for Qolsys and GE legacy sensors as well as Qolsys S-Line encrypted sensors. It also has a DSC PowerG radio for PowerG encrypted sensors.
You could take over wired sensors using the Qolsys Hardwired 16F which can take over up to 10 2-wire smoke detectors as well.
Are all sensors in use wired, or are any wireless? How many wired zones? The HW16F supports up to 16 zones but more than one HQ16F can be utilized if necessary
So I just completed my swap over the the Qolsys IQ panel 2+ and low and behold I have 4 wire smokes. What would be the most cost effective way, installing the firefighter SLX AD T3 audio detector?
If those smoke detectors all sound an alarm whenever one of them is tripped, then yes the Firefighter is a good choice to try and would far and away be the most cost effective. Otherwise You would need to replace the detectors.
