CNTRL2-345 Control Panel Firmware Update Issues

Hi all, I’ve been trying to update my 2GIG-CNTRL2-345 Control Panel from v1.6 to v1.9.6 using the UPCBL2 cable I recently purchased; however, I’ve been unable to connect via the Update Tool (still get “NO PANEL”).

Did I receive a defective cable? I attached a picture and there seems to be only three prongs (I drew a red arrow to show the missing one)

Any other potential issues causing me not to connect?

Here’s also a datadump of the log file:

In an separate issue, I’ve purchased two batteries for the Control Panel and have been unable to charge both; has anyone run into any battery charging issues?

Thanks!

Make sure you are following each step in this video verbatim.

You’ll need to power down your panel, plug in the cable, run the shortcut program, then power up the panel in order for it to be seen.

When installing batteries, make sure to power down your panel completely, plug in the battery first, then plug in the panel transformer to start it up.

The J4 end of the update cable only uses three of the pins.

If you are getting a “no panel” then you are doing it wrong. I created a video for this very issue.

Once you install the driver, and the com port is assigned, and you create your desktop shortcuts, then completely power down panel, and watch this video:

Thanks for the help, all! Got the panel updated and working
