bell circuit output current draw

It is my understanding that the max current output for the 2GIG panel bell circuit is 120mA @12 VDC… Is this correct?

What could happen if say a wired siren/strobe was used that exceeded that maximum current draw? e.g., 180 mA @ 12 VDC

Thanks!

The amp limit on the Bell circuit is the max it will provide.

Underpowering current to an electronic device will at best stunt its function and possibly damage it.

Thanks Jason

So…the siren may not function properly/may possibly be damaged since it will be unable to draw the mA it needs, but it should not damage the panel output itself?

I don’t know if that could damage the panel itself. I would guess not but I think it would depend on how 2GIG designed the bell output. I recommend against doing it.
