I have a Qolsys IQ4 panel and two remote panels. I installed one of the remote panels on the wall, and to do so I had to turn off the power to the panel, which resulted a few hours later in a low battery signal; from the panel. That status was reflected in my Alarm.com account.
Once installed I plugged the panel back in and the panel is showing the battery is 100% full. But the Alarm.com account online is still showing a ‘Low battery’ status.
Shouldn’t the online alarm.com portal update instantly, or nearly instantly, and reflect the propert battery status?
Typically it should be pretty quick but It can take a little bit of time for the battery level to update in Alarm.com. If the underlying issue is resolved but it hasn’t been reflected in Alarm.com, you can refresh the app, or log out then back in, to get it to update.
I am showing that the low battery alert has cleared from Alarm.com at this time. Are you still seeing it on your end?
It’s showing the low battery warning has disappeared. But it’s been 18 hours since the battery was full. I’m not worried, just trying to understand the communications timing between alarm.com, suretyhome.com and my Control4 interface, all thre of which are reading information from the IQ4 panel. I need to know, in particular, whether the Control4 interface is instantaneous so I can utilize it in my home automation systems. If it isn’t instantaneous (which would be REALLY unfortunate) I need to design my automation systems differently (i.e. polling rather than interrupt-driven)
Sorry, one more question. I tried to delete a keyboard device which in reality does not exist (in my system it’s listed as IQ Remote 3). Using the panel I’m able toi “disable” the device, but I could not find a way to delete it - so it still appears int he list of devices on suretyhome.com. Am I doing something wrong?
It should be instantaneous between the IQ Panel 4 and Control4. The communication between these two are local as it uses your home internet to communicate with each other. It looks like there is a ghost message on Control4. If there is a way to refresh this from their side to perform a scan, I would try that first. If not, you can try possibly performing a panel reboot.
To remove a device like your keypad, you can swipe down from the main screen > Settings > Advanced Settings > Dealer/Installer Code > Installation > Devices > Security Sensor > Delete Sensor > Select the keypad and confirm deletion
Thanks - that worked to delete the device on the Qolsys end. It’s still not deleted in HomeAssistant, but I’m working on that - and it’s less of a concern.
