Since your system is already set up with Surety and Alarm.com, Alarm.com-compatible cameras would be the best option if you want to keep your cameras integrated with your existing security system.
You mentioned that you also like the cameras offered by Vivint. Alarm.com offers a similar type of integrated experience through compatible service providers such as Surety, allowing you to manage your security system, cameras, video clips, notifications, and other supported devices through the same platform.
For your Surety account, third-party cameras such as Reolink are not supported by the standard Alarm.com residential video service. While Alarm.com does support certain third-party camera integrations, those are intended for specific Commercial Video service configurations and are not available with standard Surety residential service.
Reolink can still be a good option if your priority is lower cost, local storage, and avoiding a monthly video subscription. However, it would essentially operate as a separate camera system from your Surety/Alarm.com system. You would use Reolink’s own app and recording features rather than managing those cameras through Alarm.com.
One of the main advantages of staying with Alarm.com-compatible cameras is the integration. You can use the same Alarm.com platform you’re already using for your security system and take advantage of features such as live video, recorded clips, video notifications, and Video Analytics, depending on the camera and service plan.
Regarding 24/7 recording, Alarm.com’s SVR (Streaming Video Recorder) can provide continuous recording for compatible cameras. The SVR stores the continuous footage locally, while the standard Alarm.com cloud video service is primarily designed around event-triggered recordings. However, the SVR does not replace the required Alarm.com video service, and not all Alarm.com cameras are compatible with an SVR.
So, if your priority is a Vivint-like integrated experience, I would recommend staying with Alarm.com-compatible cameras. If your priority is lower cost and independent 24/7/local recording, Reolink may be worth considering, but it would be a separate system from your Surety/Alarm.com setup.
