I was at work today and got a message from the alarm.com app indicating the motion sensor had a low battery, a few seconds later I got an alarm message followed by a phone call from the monitoring service.
I presumed it was a false alarm due to the low battery message. I told the monitoring station to not send the police and I would investigate myself. By the time I got home all the sensors attached to the super switch take over were reporting low battery.
I understand getting a low battery notification, which I was surprised to see as it runs off a transformer and thought the battery was just for backup, but I didn’t expect an alarm. Is this normal behavior?

I think the timing may be coincidental. The motion detector shows as having been activated first, then a low battery and an alarm signal as a result of the activation.
15-20 minutes later the rest of the TAKE devices start showing low battery.
The false alarm on the motion detector revealed the low battery condition to the panel, then later the supervision interval revealed the low battery condition for the rest of the TAKE sensors.
The battery is indeed for backup, and the TAKE is (or should be) powered off of the old wired alarm panel terminals or separate power supply/battery charging circuit.
The 12VDC Brick battery should not just be connected to the TAKE, as it would have no way to charge. Could you confirm the current setup? That might help reveal any issues.
The batteries do lose capacity over time, so it is entirely possible that a new battery may be required if it is an older battery or if it has been drained often due to power loss.
The setup appears correct. There was nobody home and I do not have pets, so I don’t know what would have caused the motion sensor to trip. I’ll look at replacing the battery, I was just concerned as it appeared the low battery is what caused the motion sensor to cause the alarm.
